The Morning Bun: Quick blurbs with a fresh take on our Yuppie lives that we would probably share over mimosas…if it were not a weekday.
As frustrating as it may be meeting new people in our RW’s, I think we all need to start with a simple plan. Yes, we can tell our frustrated friends to join groups, clubs, Bumble app dating communities and yes, we can tell our friends to say hello to a stranger at a bar (regardless of the gender), but bottom line: those are difficult to do for many of us. I think a far better strategy is to start simple: invite one friend in your city outside of your typical crew to the pregame, the rager, the day park chilling, the movie. the Bumble date (kidding), and so on and so forth. Go on Facebook, look up your FB friends in the city you live, and what do you find? You find that you haven’t seen at least 75% of them in at least a year. Reach out, drop the “whaddup” line, and invite said person out. Chances are, they’ll invite one or two friends, and voila a new FB friend, and potentially a new IG follower (although it might be the other way around these days)…
